Convocation Highlights

The 11th triennial Lutheran Education Association Convocation will be held in Milwaukee, Wisconsin, at the Delta Center, October 24-26, 2013. The theme for this convocation is "Rise and Shine, bringing knowledge to light and Light to knowledge." Rise and Shine will improve your ministry from the insights and information gained in a variety of sectional presentations, workshops, and experiences, where you will learn from colleagues as well as national experts. You will be inspired toward continued commitment to your role in Lutheran education. Join in the spirit of corporate worship with colleagues. Return home energized and professionally refreshed from keynotes, reunions with old friends, and relevant professional development.

Pre-Convocation Events

Featured Sectionals

Each sectional session includes a featured sectional and speaker—nationally-known presenters who will speak on topics of broad interest for professional church workers.

Visit Milwaukee!

Spend some time visiting Milwaukee. The largest city in Wisconsin, Milwaukee’s metropolitan area has a population of over 2 million. The first Europeans to pass through the area were French missionaries and fur traders. In 1818, explorer Solomon Juneau settled in the area, and in 1846 Juneau's town combined with two neighboring towns to incorporate as the City of Milwaukee. Large numbers of German and other immigrants helped increase the city's population in the following decades. By 1900, 34 percent of its population was of German background.
